Thomas Gainsborough was born in Sudbury, Suffolk on 14 May 1727 .Thomas Gainsborough was a landscape painter and famous British portraitist. Thomas Gainsborough was the younger son of John Gainsborough, a weaver of manufactured woolen goods. With great ability as a child, at the age of thirteen, Thomas Gainsborough father was impressed with Thomas Gainsborough's skills .So Thomas Gainsborough as an artist was allowed to go to London to study art in 1740.So Thomas Gainsborough began to study art formally in 13 years. But Thomas Gainsborough finally was associated with William Hogwarts and his school. It was one of Thomas Gainsborough’s mentor was Francis Hyman. In those years Thomas Gainsborough contributed to the decoration of the Thomas Coram Foundation for Children and dinner boxes in the gardens of Vauxhall.

Thomas Gainsborough died of cancer on August 2 in 1788 at the age of 61 years and was buried in the church of Santa Ana, Kew, Surrey (Located on Kew Green.). Thomas Gainsborough is buried alongside Francis Bauer, famous botanical illustrator.
